Our goal is simple: turn technical specifications, changing incentives, installation constraints, and real-world costs into clear guidance that helps homeowners make better decisions.
How We Research
Most AmpedHabitat articles are based on desk research. We cross-check information using manufacturer documentation, official government and utility sources, electrical-safety guidance, published specifications, current pricing where available, and transparent calculations.
- Manufacturer sources: manuals, datasheets, warranty terms, firmware notes, and product documentation.
- Official sources: government agencies, tax guidance, utility programs, codes, and safety resources when relevant.
- Comparisons: products are compared on measurable criteria such as capacity, power, charging speed, warranty, compatibility, installation requirements, and cost.
- Freshness: time-sensitive articles include dates or freshness notes so readers can tell when pricing, incentives, or specifications were checked.
Our Testing Policy
We do not describe desk research as hands-on testing. If AmpedHabitat has not personally installed, measured, or tested a product, the article should say so. When an article includes genuine first-hand testing, we identify what was tested and how.
